@theesmox is in the comments and confirms that the Trainer’s Toolkit they opened only has 1 Super Rod. Thanks again to them for the unboxing!

I think the lack of an ace-spec makes sense for this type of product. I'm not familiar with older Toolkits but it seems to be aimed at giving new players who don't have access to some basic cards an easy, convenient way to access them. The inclusion of an ace-spec would likely encourage scalpers/re-sellers and make the box harder to find, defeating the convenience it aims to provide.

It would have been great to see one there but I think it's probably the right call

It has good cards for those who want to start out for sure. Pretty upset not a single aspect in the box and not including 4 copies of some cards is also annoying.

But, at least, we get prime catcher as ace spec and Pidgeot ex in charizards deck

Also no Fezandipiti EX, I think all decks run one copy. And they call it "The Trainer's toolkit" sure...

Yea, new players should probably immediately buy one, if not two of these and buy the rest as singles. this is really nice. Ive gotten back into the game a few months ago and i think im gonna pick up one myself

Hello, Yugioh Escapee here!
I had 80% of these cards on my cardmarket want list.
I get cards such as Fezandippity and Ursaluna BM are too new, so that’s fine!
My only wish is that it came with 1 of each Ace Spec but if that’s my only complaint then it’s real, real close to being perfect.

The Ace specs, aside from maybe box, aren’t mandatory! You can run other cards as a newbie for budget options to get your deck playing and the difference isn’t THAT big! :)

This is a fantastic improvement compared to last year's one.
(Only useful cards were Arceus and Arven)

I feel like the weird distribution of some cards is meant to fill in the gaps of prebuilt decks on the market, as you get all your Arvens for Charizard's League Deck, most of the upgrade trainers you'll need aside from 2 more poffins for Gardevoir's League Deck, and some Ancient and Future cards to help max out the ones seen in the Deluxe Decks, which could be converted into Ancient and Future Box respectively.

Overall it's a solid selection and I'm definitely picking this up.

Indonesian Pokemon TCG also will release similiar box like this, but has different cards (still not have full list confirmation, but the confirmed ones are mew ew, pidgeot ex, ace spec perfect mixer and precious carrier, some trainer staples like poffin, mistika, arvin etc) alongside deck storage and 10 booster packs. I wonder why pokemon TCG dont put the two ace specs here

So I'm trying to start pokemon tcg and gonna get gardy tactical deck but it missing some trainer card that I need like arven and tm evolution, is it worth to also get this box also or just get single, since the tactical deck is already have most of the trainer cards ?

As a new player I see this Tool Kit as a really good inversion for ppl who wanna start to play, maybe just an ace spec would be good but still for it's price it's already a really amazing product (At least for new players).

If you are still not happy with this, just wait for the Charizard League Battle Deck.

If they would have included an ace spec and it wasn't prime catcher everyone would complain about whatever ace spec they chose to include. Makes sense they would just not include one then do so and have no one happy with the inclusion.

My biggest complaint about these toolkits is that you literally cannot build a deck from what you get in here. It'd be nice to have a random set of pre-built decks that would at least enable you and a friend to buy one each and be able to play. Wouldn't have to be competitive. Could be a rehash of like a meowscarada ex deck or a build around a bulk-ish ex that would get you started. Doesn't need to be highly competitive but at least playable and fun.

Edit:It would be a fun way of introducing some additional more niche staples like if the pre-made deck had a baby and ex Alakazam and could include a copy of Mimikyu and Klefki.

probably buying 1, still need more poffins, more vessels and a squawk

If you only consider the cards you would need competitively, is it better value then going for singles? And please consider this would be for someone completely new making mostly budget decks and then a Charizard ex with the November battle pass. I already bought quite a few of the missing pieces that are in here I feel

Thanks so much for this! Especially glad there are two vessels and poffins. Too bad about ace specs. I feel the current league prize pack list really addresses the cards players need; I wish pokemon sold booster bundles of that set, maybe without the play pokemon seal, so you can get cards for deck building and a chance at ace specs.
