After trying Stanton and various Audio Technica carts the music red blows them all away. Amazing sound 😃

The sound has a lot to do which speakers you use, and which record you put on, which studio monitors was used in the studio, and the mixing itself. Also about the amplifier used, the production cutter. That you know when using a JBL L100A.

The studio monitors used has everything to do with the sound in your speakers. For example Laid Back Sunshine Reggae sounds spot on, because they use the JBL L100A in their studio. Most studios used the L100 in the 70-ties, so most of the 70 records sounds good on a L100, but not on a small modern bookshelf speaker - while newer records have a heavy bass, as the studio monitors are typically small bookshelf speakers. I think the difference between the M2 and Concorde drowns and is insignificant compared with above, what would matter is how good the stylus is to pick up details on a flat 70 record.

I have been using the Ortofon Concorde Club MKII for years to dj with, and they are amazing. The sound quality is first class.

Hi Paul, thanks for the exstensive review. Got a question though; what about overhang? What I know is that a Concorde is made to fit in a Technics SL1200 (or sibling) It has just the right overhang. Audio Technica or Pioneer SL 1200 clones have a slightly different overhang as has the LP5X u have used for this review.

I would be interested in a comparison Red with Bronze and Black. Is it worth it, especially on records from the 70´ties having a rather flat recording/cutting quality, can a bronze or black dig up more details?

What happens if an Ortofon Elite stylus is mounted on a common traditional Concorde cartridge or on an OM cartridge? Thanks

How does it blend with the Schitt Mani, or a decent external phono pre amp?

I have a 2m blue but am considering the music blue. Not sure if there is a difference in sound though so would it be worth the change?

This is actually not the first Hi-Fi version of the Concorde, the Concord R has been available for years, in 10, 20, 30 50 stylus - which is now called red, blue etc. I have the R20. Especially users of the Technics SL-1200 and others with Bayonet mount it is perfect. Alignment has always been a 3D problem, plus the overhang on the SL-1200, this Concorde Hi-Fi version solves all these problems.

Is it worth getting the ortofon concorde black or LVB music phono cartridge? I have a Grado Gold II (it have moments of fluttering) and a Fluance 85. Fluance said this turntable cartridge is not compatible with their turntables. Do you know why they said that? My opinion may be because they have contacted the cartridge vendors. Thank you for your channel it helped me out through the challenges of my enjoyment of drowning in audio.

Great review and useful info, especially the chart. Just FYI, Ortofon is actually pronounced Ortophone!

I also reccomend the awesome Ortofon Bronze cartridge. It has the fullness of the red AND the extra detail of the blue. Money doesn't grow on trees though. I wish they sent you the Concord bronze to compare.

Hi dear, I have a Ortofon OM cartridge fitted with a 5E stylus. Is it possible to upgrade with OM10 or 20 stylus to that cartridge. Also have a Ortofon Concorde Mk1 fitted with a 5E, same question regarding this upgrade to OM10 or 20 stylus. I got these cartridges with a turntable I just bought. Thanks and brgds.

No I am confused, hope you get to review the Concorde Music Bronze. I was thinking of upgrading my Fluance RT85 to it, but been going back and forth between that and the 2m Bronze.
