The Pogonomyrmex badius (Florida Harvester Ant) colony that I dug up back in March has a pretty lackluster setup... Let's change that! In this video, I take you along as I build an amazing looking naturalistic foraging area for this amazing colony!

Huge thanks to friends in Florida for getting some additional footage for this video:

Great video man! I took inspo from your anting vlogs and went out and did my own video showing wildlife i found. Your video where you find the Atta queens near Organ Pipe Cactus NM is one of my favorite vids ever. The vibe is just so awesome.

9:50 charcoal also is GREAT to kill fungus! mixing a tablet worth into ~ a glass of earth (or two) helps to keep the mold out
Those guys figured this one out i bet

I have a colony of these that lives in my front yard, here in North Florida. I enjoy observing them, and it's cool to see how they close up the entrance from time to time. The first time I noticed them doing this I thought they had died, but they opened it back up a couple days later. Lately it seems as though there aren't many of them. Should I give them some kind of food? Or maybe they'd appreciate some charcoal? Cheers!

great video! now, I have a question. I recently purchased a P. pilifera queen from buckeye myrmecology, and I was wondering if you have any tips for them, or pilifera group Pheidole in general? thanks!

I would say i hope you use high temperature hot glue but with that glue gun that's a low temp hot glue. So don't use heat on the outworld or the glue will just melt. You would be better with a solvent based glue as it would make a permanent bond.

Play Sting you like these ants are all around me all day I actually won't hear because I got the question whenever I burn wood The collector charcoal and scatter it all around their nest why sorry they sting you like I picked him up and play with them all day they don't ever really bother me but I do feed them a lot of peanut butter so maybe they kind of pet too and two together
