ORCA does not make any sounds, ORCA is a music sequencer. It works with MIDI, UDP, and OSC messages.

From Hundredrabbits:
Orca is an esoteric programming language designed to quickly create procedural sequencers, in which every letter of the alphabet is an operation, where lowercase letters operate on bang, uppercase letters operate each frame.

This application is not a synthesizer, but a flexible livecoding environment capable of sending MIDI, OSC & UDP to your audio/visual interfaces, like Ableton, Renoise, VCV Rack or SuperCollider.

ORCA is the most bizarre and fascinating sequencer I have ever seen
To the people making music on it, "You're a wizard, Harry"

You have such a relaxing and engaging presentation style! Orca seems really intimidating from the outside but this made me really excited to get stuck in and play :)

Fantastic - total fun :-) Already hoping for this to (perhaps) run on a Raspberry Pi. Also, props for your very calm and easily understandable presentation!

Finally a good tutorial! I've been looking for some sort of tutorial after seeing people use the language with Monome Norns.

Thanks a lot ! You got me into orca with your opz vid and now I'm crazy about it :) it's really interesting to see how others use it, like how you use bangs within a T operator. I hope you'll continue this serie with a part 2 !

I'll drop you a little engagement here to let you know how I found this video. The algo recommended me a video on esolangs for some reason (I don't know much programming beyond how to make a CYOA in QBASIC), and the bit on Orca got me excited. Your video seemed like a good choice for learning how it works. I'm only about 5 and a half minutes into the video, but I'm understanding so far, and appreciate your delivery. Thanks for helping me learn!
