This is such a powerful video. I've been accepted at a very prestigious university where I thought there wasn't a chance. I attribute that largely to their admission process being very much what you talk about at the end. They had tons of extra essays for their process, one of them being a GPA addendum where I could lay that all out. I was too afraid to put that stuff in the statement of purpose at other schools because I thought I wouldn't be adequately answering the prompt. As a result, I've been rejected by one reputable, but much less prestigious university. I'm waiting to hear from one more school. It has definitely caused some imposter syndrome believing that maybe the prestigious school made a mistake. I've been combatting it with narratives like what you describe in this video. So very relatable and inspiring. Thank you!

This is so so great! I really appreciate all what you have said. I can so relate with this, I was NEVER a great student in school up to University either, but right now I'm doing my PhD and like you said because I came to understand my strengths, I am doing quite well.

Thank you for this.
