My mother, uncle, their cousin grew up poor in brooklyn. My grand aunt and great grandmother used to save all week to tale them to baseball games. In the cheap bleacher seats. Wish I could see pictures of those people in that seating area…and that era up closer. Yankees Stadium was the only MLB stadium I ever went to in NYC, as a kid but that was 1981.

My fear is that Yankee, and baseball, fans in general born after 2000 will assume that all Yankee history took place at the current Stadium. That is how thorough a job the city did in removing every stick of evidence that the Stadium once stood south of 161st St.
