Like with other fellow commenters here, this recording takes me decades back to childhood when, home alone, I would play it as loud as possible and possibly louder than my neighbours would have liked (or not, they never complained), and would join in attemps at singing along and even "conducting" my virtual orchestra and choir. 40 years later, I still try! Probably one of the best classical pieces of all times, definitely my favourite.

This exact version of 'Carmina Burana' is what I would listen to during my late teen and young adult years almost religiously through a set of Sennheiser headphones. Glorious times! @Kaarajann, Levine's human flaws and predilections, while tragic and unfortunate, doesn't change MY experience and opinion of the brilliance of this specific version. And, for the record, I don't and didn't follow Levine as a director in any capacity.

noch einmal neben der von jochum gehört. beide sind roßartig. diese ist mehr auf punch und "misterioso. der vorteil bei jochum ist die genaue durchdringung des txtes auch durch den chor, was mehr spannung in den steigerungen zu den höhepunkten aufbaut. allerdings liebe ich hier den sehr leidend klingenden tenor hier in der bratarie. stolze ist bei jochum mehr in seinem idiom, aber bei levine hat man hier das gefühl, das unwohlsaein des tenors creech ist nicht nur gespielt, sondern sehr real. der effekt ist aber durchschlagend. schön ist das
