I wanted to do a fun comparison video on some outfits that I think are a little dated and show you how to update them for this season and moving into 2024!

I love how you took one item from your look and replaced it with something else that’s on trend. It gives a more realistic way to update your closet - not feeling the need to go buy tons of new outfits. The moto jacket was my favorite❤

I’m 72 and have spent my life in the same size which is 2. I’m not interested in oversize anything…a size 4 is as oversize as I’d go.

To me, the oversized cardigan is no different than the oversized Shacket. I dislike the oversized trend in general but agree that if everything you wear is tight or everything you wear is oversized, it doesn’t look good. Thank you and merry Christmas.

The first outfit and its updated version are 2 totally different looks. One is more polished and appropriate for going out and the other with sweat pants and chunky trainers are more suited for errands. It’s way more casual.

Thank goodness! That space between the shoe and the pant leg with that bit of leg showing has never been a trend I got on got on board with. It just always seemed to cut the body in a strange way and make the pants look too short. My eye would automatically be drawn to that part of the outfit, and many of us do not feel our ankles should be a focal point for our bodies. I have a high waist and long legs, and this chopped my body into weird segments. I much prefer a continuous and sleek line on the bottom that draws the eye down and away from a waist that lacks much definition. I am sure there a body types that this style would look good on but that look was not for me.

Love your style and all your new ideas. However, depending on where you live and your lifestyle, I don't think trends happen that fast. I still love my shacket on cool fall days, and at my fire pit on cool fall evenings.

Do you want to look trendy or well-dressed? They are NOT the same! I used to work for Federated Stores as the assistant to the Menswear Fashion Director and I was a trend predictor. I always dressed in a very classic way - altering the silhouettes slightly as technology and fabrications changed, but barely altered the silhouettes. I buy true classics - my Burberry raincoat is from 1984 and though I've worn it hundreds of times it still looks new because it is so well made and its design is perfection. Here's my take on the trends mentioned here: Trainers looks sloppy and never look elegant - and unless you polish they they look dirty. Shackets are not flattering - totally hides your figure and not feminine. Oversize longer cardigan adds pounds to your figure and is not flattering. Doesn't work under a coat. A crossbody bag right under the breast looks stupid and is really difficult to wear if you actually want to get things out of your bag - don't do it! Straight leg jeans that cover the top of the bootie lengthens the leg. Skinny jeans - not comfy and the leg rides up. Heavy loafers look clunky and masculine. None of this is elegant, feminine, or luxurious - or well-dressed. It's just trendy. Here today, gone tomorrow. Next!

It’s amazing how much difference small changes can make to outfit! My fav was the cashmere hoodie in set the blazer with jeans. Such a fun look! I hope you and yours have a most wonderful Christmas!

I love your calm voice, low key manner, and the encouragements that, sometimes, coming from a stranger can be more impactful. My style tends to lean more towards yours, because it is more classic - who would call a hoodie with jeans, classic? I think it is the soft zipped hooded sweater.
