Sony's new PlayStation Now game streaming service is playable at CES 2014 this week, where the company also held a private event at which Polygon got a closer look at how game-streaming will work on PlayStation and non-PlayStation devices.

Mike McWhertor tries out The Last of Us, God of War: Ascension and Puppeteer with Playstation Now on the PS Vita.

They have to improve that input lag! I just don't see it taking off if there is any noticeable lag in 6 months time

Really looking forward to this and hearing what the beta testers' impressions are.

Just downloaded PlayStation Now onto my vita, I remembered hearing somewhere that if your PSN/SEN(Sony Entertainment Network) account is listed as already OWNING a copy of a game, you can stream it on PS Now for free, I looked at The Sly Collection on PS Now and it didn't say anything about me being able to stream it for free. Granted, PS Now is apparently in an open beta right now, and it could've been the Vita version of The Sly Collection that they have listed, but I'm not sure. Was I misled earlier when I heard about free streaming rights for games I already own, or is the open beta not entirely all there for me to be able to stream freely games that I already own. P.S. Sony, why did you have to go and make The Sly Collection, among so many other games, not cross-buy titles? I understand that you need money, what business model doesn't revolve around maximizing profits, but why do you have to go about it like that?

does your ps4 or ps3 have to be on to stream the game?

Just seeing the latency with GOW was a huge turnoff. It amazes me how gamers can become accepting of input-delay. Personally, latency completely ruins the whole experience for me, especially in competitive multiplayer gaming.

I might just buy a Vita for the PS Now services.

Some of the games look tasty. But Lag of any kind is 100% unwelcome. The prices here are way too high. Why would anyone pay that high a price when they could buy the game for only a little more ? I will use this probably only once

It doesn't seem as though PS3 games will be on PS4, only Vita. I have a Vita but would much prefer to play games like The Last of Us on a console, opposed to the handheld

If Cloud Gaming had had any chance of working then Onlive would of taken off instead of failing miserably. If you want a test of how this is gonna work then go ahead and test out a game on ugamenow.com... Preferably a game where you have to use your mouse like Brick Shooter: Egypt. It has so much Input lag it is unbearable to play the lowest of spec games efficiently with an actively connected device like a Mouse, So you can more than bet movement in cloud games will be sluggish if the server isn't located in your house. This is why Steam's In house Streaming service makes sense more so than Cloud Gaming.

LOL Polygon maybe Microsoft funded spies trying to analyze Sony tech. Who can tell these days lol

These reviewers need to be shut down for sure. Cant wait to try out PSN (Playstation Now) It will expand the PS4 functionality. I use the Vita remote play streaming for certain games and latency is not a problem, you just need a stable internet connection that wont cut off or lose bandwidth. Great to have options. Well done Sony.
