The real hero of this story is Ed’s wife allowing him to buy multiple cars worth more than their house while making no money for 2 years 😂. What a trooper

Thank you for bringing up the insurance limit issue, because it is not something a lot of people think about. It is a worst case scenario, but it is definitely possible. I am a deputy prosecuting attorney and handle a lot of misdemeanors and infractions right now. The amount of people on the road without a license or insurance would absolutely shock some people. ALWAYS get uninsured motorist coverage and under insured motorist coverage.

Ed’s stories are truly the best. He’s just got a way of making you feel immersed in it.

(Side note) it show the kind of guy he is when he’s more ‘worried’ about someone else not being able to pay for the insurance claim assuming someone was to crash into it rather than just himself losing the car. Seriously the best.

Always enjoy Ed stories! Ed, your maintenance costs for this beauty makes the $45, 000 I've spent maintaining my 2011 911 GTS for 65, 000 miles seem almost rational. Almost.

Shmee made a very similar video yesterday. Our experiences have been a bit different.

Love that you went into the financial responsibility and insurance components, that is something most people don't mention. You were very close with the terms, the limits and coverage at play would be property damage in the scenario you outlined. It is physical damage with regards to your own vehicle. Most large consumer carriers offer property damage up to $500k, and the conventional recommendation for property damage is $100K (100/300/100), which would still be grossly inadequate for a mercy.

For anyone concerned about financial ruin after totaling Ed's car, look into an umbrella policy. They tend to be inexpensive, and cover you when your primary insurance limits are exceeded.

You should make a video talking about how to get insurance on cars worth over $1M

The photography of this Murci in all varying settings is utterly sublime. Top notch dream car set into scene perfectly. 👌

What other questions do you have about Lamborghini Murcielago ownership?

I think the radio is one of those things that you say you'll eventually put in, but likely wont ever do it unless you have a buyer with cash in hand. The sound of the v12 is all you need.

I'm a Miata owner, and you just gave me 14 heart attacks! Hell, for less then $10, 000 I could have a whole new built engine. Cost of ownership minus upgrades is maybe $500/year.

Crazy about insurance in the US. Basic policy in Australia covers up to $20M AUD for 3rd party damages.

Great video. I'm not sure about accepting $20K-$30K maintenance bills as common. I've owned a Viper for 15 years. Other than fluid changes and tires...I've had to replace a $96 relay switch and a $200 steering pulley. Fifteen years of ownership...$300 of total repairs. I'm Canadian...but man...America builds some pretty reliable fast cars!

It was such a treat seeing you and that car in person when it and all of you and your friends were in Scottsdale for it. Your Lamborghini Beverly Hills plate you asked me if I could take off and keep is still on my wall. Thanks for being so cool and friendly, Ed.

Always love a good Ed Murci story and appreciate the name dropping on where to find factory certified Lambo service. Would love to see a video on the do/don't what can/can't wait after you've accepted a used exotic that maybe doesn't have a great service history. Just accepted delivery of a 2007 997.1 Turbo (thank you AutoTempest for finding it any my many inquiries over the past 2-3 years) with no service history that passed the post-purchase inspection with recommendations for a cabin air filter and some slow oil seepage to watch but do nothing. Want to build a record and would be great to know how/where to start.

Here in Australia were insured for $20 million for at fault claims. That’s for 3rd party property damage insurance as well as comprehensive insurance.
