Dont use metal wire on chain. Use some plastic wire or use cotton piece

At best, this is a get you home fix for a mile on a very low powered bike/moped ridden very gently. It is dangerous.

Having an extra link or two in the same kit as the cutters, wire and screw driver seems to this 93 year old guy as a better solution.

I actually used a ziptie to limp ride my dirt bike, about 2 miles, to my truck on a mountain ride. Honestly couldn't believe it held up.
