It took me ten years to actually realize the tragic nature of the lyrics. The beautiful voice and guitar hid it from me.

Saw them gathering sticks from the ground
By the thicket while assembling a nest

On alert for any lingering threat
Building frantically without rest

Walls grew dense and blocked out the sun
Caving in everyone

Darkness fell, wiped a once joyous tone
Then famished, like possessed ended eating their own

Saw them gathering sticks from the ground
By the thicket while assembling the nest

This is not about birds building a nest and then the dark winter forcing them to eat their children.
This is about humanity frantically without rest producing, building, and buying stuff, separating us from other humans and humanity as a whole, and the endless wars that we fight with others.

@danielinsporto That's Yukimi Nagano, a very well known Swedish/Japanese singer in her own right. She and Jose have done a lot of music together at various performances.

with that voice you don t need anything else than a guitar...

His sense of rhythm is so fucking good. His fingerpicking sounds like it's done by a robot with a sense of groove. Just absolutely impeccable.
