More evidence the ‘economy is teetering’ on recession as higher interest rates come in

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says this week there is more evidence that the “global economy is teetering on the brink of recession” as central banks try to head off inflation with higher interest rates.

“Now it's a matter of judgement about which is worse - a recession or long-term inflation,” Mr Greenwood said.

“As in America, in Australia, there are signs that inflation is more than a passing trend. It's coming as companies raise prices to not only offset their costs but to profit from cash-rich consumers.”

Stop blaming companies for the price rises, this is 100% the result of pathetic monetary policy and governments printing GDP instead of growing economies responsibly.

Cut down on your consumption and restrict yourself to the necessities. Why support the big companies like Qantas who have no concern for those who buy their products, only the bottom line?

Allan Joyce is lying. Seats were full before there was a huge price increase. Qantas & QF owned Jetstar seem to have an abnormally high high delays citing "technical reasons" . This is about cancelling flight & putting their passengers on the next available Qantas or Jetstar flight rather than meeting this obligation to run a service even if it is not full

The inflation is not coming from the demand side. It's coming from issues in the supply side, mostly relating to international shipping companies. The added interest is just going to make the situation worse.
