That's the worse teaser I saw in years, straight out of 90's tv.

Judging by the trailer, among the Roman gladiators there were blacks. Black women

Bad acting.. bad effects… all budget on Hopkins who was told this was something else

Sadly there will be a lot of historically inaccurate costumes and stuff in it.

The hero/protagonist of course will be 'the one' of those, that is about to rise...and the narrator/Anthony Hopkins character placing the bets could be friend or foe - Gladiator series, for fans!

Interesting. One thing that never or rarely is showcased on these Roman series or movies is how extremely religious or ritualistic the Romans were, basically almost all their activities involved some ritual, dedication, procession, you name it. Watching fantasies alone you would infer that they didn't care about none of these and they were pure orgies and debauchery: yes, this happened, but in the same way Hollywood actors (and directors and producers) do it; posing a public moral for the public and having another in private. Because the general people had the ethical standards (adapted to a warrior culture, that is, a culture that had war atop of their cultural priorities).

This is why one of the many reasons that was theorized as the fall of the Roman Empire was a change of religion, given that Christianity had another axis of understanding social and religious dynamics (what was easier because Christianity entered mainly into an Empire that already had taken as much land as they could).

Hopefully not some overly wrought dialogue, B costars or seething anger ending in salacious battles . Please be more than a TV miniseries
