Hewing yet another log

In this episode I skip the rough hewing with the forest axe and go straight into hewing with the favourite hewing axe. The reason for this is that the actual log is quite slim but long which means it is less wood to remove. The scoring has already been done with the slim blade straight axe. If you feel it inspiring, please give a thumbs up. If you have thoughts about how I do it, express your thoughts in the comments. I do my best and I like it but I’m not a pro yet. Just want to mention that my great grandfather was a timber man hewing timber and built log houses in the north of Sweden.

That's a beautiful axe, that long edge profile takes a while to hone but boy when you get that burr finally and strop it off it stays sharp a long time, Love the videos thank you. A woodworker - old style - from Ann Arbor Michigan.

I've seen quite a few Hewing clips. But this fellow is the best operator at Hewing, by a country mile. He really is good at what he does.

Hi. Nice work👍🪓.Before I wos using a simple, duble bevel ax for hewing timber for my projects before, but now I mede my new side ax with single bevel and it works great. I didn't expected that hewing for.ex: pine tree can be soo smoth and easy
