With my son I used the refrigerator. It was a rule that while we are cleaning the fridge, he can tell me anything and I won't scream or have a heart attack. We covered many serious items and I got a clean fridge. Win/win.

Taught my son to turn wrenches on beater cars at age 15. At age 20, he interned at Tesla. At age 28, he’s designing stuff at SpaceX. Never thought he’ll achieve so much so quickly.

This struck me to the heart. My son is now 41, a heavy drinker. This whole idea of a conversation with your child. I have no words.

I drove my kids to and from school across town every day. In the morning I heard about worries of the day and we talked about how to handle them. The afternoon conversation was of the days events. I drove my son until he was a sophomore and my daughter until she graduated. There were great conversations and well worth the time spent fighting traffic rather than them sitting on a bus.

I coach high school football. After the last game of the year I try to give every senior a hug and give them a personalized, encouraging word. I pick out certain traits of theirs that I highlight and try to give them vision for their future. I do that because one of my coaches did that to me after losing in the state championship game my sophomore year. As I was crying in the locker room he came and spoke words that after nearly 20 years still bring tears to my eyes.

The manuscript was considered too bold and provocative for its time, addressing topics like fear, control, and societal manipulation. It wasn’t until 2011, long after Hill’s death, that the book was finally published by the Napoleon Hill Foundation. It’s worth studying it

"Outwitting The Devil" is, by far, the most excellent book ever written on human behavior. I was a mental health counselor, and there isn't a book I would more highly recommend, if a person truly wants to understand their own behavior and thought patterns.
