Very interesting! I’m trying to get up the nerve to address a long neglected weeping cherry. You’ve given me the courage to start. Thank you. First the dead, crossing, and wrong direction. As a beginner, I would have appreciated some before and after pics to make it obvious to me how to keep balance, a/symmetry, and not butcher the poor tree irreparably. Handsome dogs!! 😊

I’ve never trimmed my beautiful cherry tree. Is there any way that you can help me? Mine is much bigger than yours, I have a huge sucker from the root and it’s not weeping very much anymore. 😢. I’ve had it now for seven years, I planted it when it was a baby.
