50 years old Spell Book review. 1970's magic!

I love this as I too was a 70's baby I can remember my mom would light a red candle to find my dad and my dad would see the red flame in his mug of beer and call my mom to tell her to blow the dam candle out he will be home soon...lol my mom was very magical but she didn't know how to use her gifts because it was a forbidden thing in her family....

OMG! I bought this book as a young teen in the early 70s at the check-out in a grocery store. It was my first sign that witchcraft was a real thing and not just a theme of TV shows and movies. I didn't think anyone would find a copy these days.

Keep an eye out for any books by Sybil Leek, especially her autobiography, "Diary Of A Witch", published in 1968. I think that she was one of the first to come out of the broom closet and bring Witchcraft to the mainstream public.

I remember this book! I was around 11 years old when my mother bought this book at a grocery store checkout, she was hiding it until I found it, and I would sneak it to my room to read it, I even made my first Poppet, then the book disappeared, I guess my mom found it, and threw it away. Thank you for sharing this, brought so many memories, this book is hard to find.

I remember that book. I was about 11yrs old and bought it at the local grocery store. My great grandmother ( who was a very religious) forced my mother to force me to burn it. 😢
