If you think steel is too heavy you need bigger muscles.

A steel framed long-travel full sus will be at most 1kg heavier than an equivalent-sized alloy or carbon frame.

I'd say the biggest difference in weight from my bike is having to carry a huge bike lock around! 🤣 It probably weighs more than my bare frame.

I'll never let go of my mk1 Blue Pig.
I run a 160mm Revelation and DT Swiss EX1750s, thing has plenty of rake for an old 26er.
Lovely comfortable slack feel to the thing, nice on the old bones.

More importantly, she descends like a guided missile, will hang her arse out in corners.

You feel connected to the bike, the bike feels connected to the earth.

There's something seriously visceral about steel.

I love steel. I've had too many issues with aluminum and I don't really trust carbon frames. I do however have a carbon seatpost in my freeride bike 🤘

Keep it up, thank you for the informative content

If carbon was any good they would make aluminium from it and if aluminium was any good they would make steel from it, but unobtainium is by far the 👌 👍. E=Mtb²

Wouldn't have gotten a frame crack months after shenanigans it wasn't meant for if it had been steel not alloy. As far I understand it doesn't really fatigue like that. As I now understand I should have bought a dirtjumper not a xc bike 😅. Had one crash. Many jumps. A used Scott genius 30. Fully. Then just rode normally and on a long ride, that was entirely on road, no jumps, nothing, I rode down one small set of stairs and boom. Broken swingarm. Whole Things trash now. Maybe I'll pick up a dirtjump frame or an older frame eventually. Wheels and brakes are still really nice but 26.

My Aluminium XC hardtail is with a folding lock, fenders and other stuff (a small tool bag) already around 16 kg, but it's still OK

Come on GMBN, we’re not fouled. We know these are old clips.

Just be honest with your us.

Due to (insert comment) Doddy is taking a break from presenting at the moment. Just keep it simple.

Would put a lot of people’s minds at rest.

I like my ti Moots Mooto X RSL and no one can change my mind about ti being the best.

The Steel is Real enduro crowd should be naturally drawn to Ti FS frames, which can cost under $2K from the Chinese fabricator.
