Q: Do people actually believe this?
A: Yep! Google it. Also, every time I cook with honey on the channel, I get DMs.

Q: Is this some particularly American misconception?
A: The country from which this belief originates is mentioned many times in the video. It is not the United States.

Q: Are you really saying that honey has no health benefits? Because there are lots of legit sources indicating otherwise.
A: No, that's not what I'm saying at all. I was discussing the purported health benefits of raw honey compared to pasteurized honey, which the EU's food safety authority deems unsupported by evidence.

I've literally never heard this myth until this video.

Flawed reason to eat local honey: It will cure your allergies!
*Good* reasons to eat local honey: It's one way to support your local beekeepers, who are caring for the bees, and produces a smaller carbon footprint than honey that has been shipped in by the truckload to your supermarket. (Also, maybe some of that honey came from flowers in your own garden. Isn't that a nice, cozy, thought?)

I’m astonished that this video wasn’t sponsored by Honey, the chrome extension saving thing.
Also, holy likes!

Why I season my bees instead of my honey

I brew mead, and one common variety of mead is called a bochet, and that is where the honey is cooked and caramelized beforehand, giving you a range of flavors from from caramel to burnt marshmallow, depending how long you cook it. Not only is this not toxic, its @#$%ing delicious.

I never fancied myself as someone who would watch food and cooking videos, but it's phenomenal how you include scientific research, opinions from experts, historical/cultural backgrounds, chemistry, and biology. I also appreciate how you apply a scientific approach to your own cooking. It all culminates in content that's very informative and entertaining.

The last time I was this early my cutting board hadn't even been seasoned yet.

You need to decarb the bees in the oven for around 40 minutes at 240F, this will convert the honey molecule so it's no longer toxic. Some people take the bees out of the oven once the buzzing has stopped but I would recommend not rushing the process.

The multiple memes about white wine and why I season X, not my Y affected Adam’s sanity
*like just look at the thumbnail*

Is it just me or is every YouTube watch sponsor started by "two brothers that don't understand why good looking watches can't be affordable" or something along those lines?

That was the cleanest segue to an ad I've ever seen.
