I'm a Honda fan boy but I'm not blind and try to be fair. For 10k this bike should be a bit more capable, I love this bike but in order to justify the price we should be at 8k. I know it's possible since we have the T7 for a while now, it's hard to say but overall it's a better machine and reliability is also there, it's been 10 years since the CP2 was revealed and it's solid.

new transalp is an awesome bike, fast enough, and capable in the woods and the highway. don't think its disappointing at all for the price point.

Honestly, i don't think it was designed to "stand out", they just had to engine from the Hornet that had conviniently 90hp, that's it.
Reason is because Honda starded from the naked bike, while Suzuki, for example, started from the V-Strom engine and ported that to the 8S.

Now that the supreme court in the US has killed the Chevron doctrine, and greatly reduced the EPA's "authority", it's going to be interesting to see what happens with the EPA demanding all these restrictions on vehicles.
