As Maton says themselves “It takes a great guitar to meet the demands of such a great player”, and the Maton EBG808TE Tommy Emmanuel signature model lives up to the demand. The guitar’s AAA Grade Sitka Spruce top, and Queensland Maple back and sides with a Vintage Amber Satin Stain, paired with Maton’s scalloped X Bracing, give this guitar the capability t deliver a superb tone with the most delicate expressions or fercious attacks. The guitar dons a Mother of Pearl block inlay on the 12th Fret, engraved with "C.G.P."

The acronym stands for "Certified Guitar Player," a title bestowed on Tommy by Chet Atkins, and held by only 3 other guitarists in the world: John Knowles, Jerry Reed and Steve Warriner. Outfitted with a Maton AP5 Pro pickup system to capture this guitar’s unparalleled voice in any performance setting, there is nothing that this guitar can’t do. The Maton EBG808TE was meticulously designed and built to Tommy Emmanuel’s specs making it a guitar fit for master, yet sure to inspire any player who lays their hands upon it.

Great playing and once again clearly demonstrating that you don't have to plug a Maton in for it to sound good. The TE is a stunning sounding guitar plugged or unplugged.

I love how the tag line says The North American Guitar, home of the world's finest guitars and their reviewing a Tommy Emmanuel EBG808TE. Wholly and completely manufactured in the Maton Guitar Factory in Melbourne, Victoria. Australia from all Australian woods. One of the most elite acoustic guitars in the world and a signature model of one of the finest guitarists (Acoustic and Electric) in the world who was born and raised in northern New South Wales, Australia.

If you play guitar, you gotta have one of these. I’m glad I do even though I play mostly electric.

It’s heavenly wonderful.

Sounds nice, bright but very smooth in the trebles, a sort of bell like tone. The Queensland maple seems very flat EQ wise, but that's probably ideal for amplifying it. It doesn't have as much character as some mahogany or rosewood guitars, but a very clean sound that records well.

Would you please tell me, which mics you use? Seems to be same in every video. By the way: These vids of Carl Miner are absolutely the best to hear how acoustics sound. very well played, recorded and the best: no useless talking.

imho - amped up they sound amazing. But, un-amped acoustic, they are quiet and tonally flat.
I wouldn't play one unless it was plugged in, as the guitar seems built around the requirements of the pickup/mic system inside. That system is what makes the guitar really fly
