You could be making wave generators close to shore that also just happen to be designed to double as artificial reefs.

This is how the reefing community does it. We’ve been fragging and trading corals to grow into massive colonies for 20+ years now. A lot of information we’ve learned about how to keep coral healthy has come from hobbyists.

And most corals grow far faster than people think. It’s the brain corals that grow incredibly slow. But basic corals like birds nest or a montipora can grow a foot or more a year.
