Kaitlyn, I have been following your hunts for a long time (since 2019 I think). I started following because you were hunting from a saddle and I found it interesting.
Using a separate string for your bow attached to your backpack is a great idea I think. I really appreciate that idea and will try it on my next set. It seems like I'm always hauling up too much weight at one time and just never thought of doing this. Keep up the good work kiddo!

So while wrapping the rope around the attachment button on the one stick you want to go under one full time around and then create your figure 8! Great video tho, thank you!

I second the knee cushion and back rest such a game changer and for me I started repelling down and found it much safer when getting down at night

First time watcher, Kaitlyn, Really enjoyed the video! Very detailed and explained thoroughly. I've been saddle hunting a few years, certainly got some good ideas from You! Best of Luck in Your Hunting and Filming! Thank You!

Great content miss maus, my boys are in to hunting but my baby girl is 10 and she's really wanting a bow so I'm fixing to buy her one, I hope she truly finds the passion of archery and hunting, so thank you for being a good example to all the young girls out there, God bless

Thanks for taking time to explain the saddle.. hunted for many years and used about every kind of stand but never considered using a saddle until I watched this.. I’m definitely going to look into it.. I think it would be great for those times when it’s a very long walk to where you’re hunting.

Never thought about only using the tether and not the lineman belt. I hate the line belt it’s always in my way. I’ll be trying your method this season

Best saddle video ever.
You will not get that kind of detail from a guy's explanation of anything, and I for one need it. I'm a very slow learner.
That she is cute also helps with my usual Inability to focus properly.

Hugely helpful as I am thinking of transitioning from a stand to a saddle. Thanks.

I also only use the tether, the lineman belt is only a backup if i encounter a branch .
Some suggestions which might be worth a try:
Use the orange rope as tether, that way it isn't in your way, you still can have your stuff attached on it on the ground. I personally have a carabiner in that loop (instead of girth hitching it to the tree) so if a branch shows up (:D) it feels easier to detach the rope from the tree than to manipulate at the ascender to open it there to overclimb the branch. I also have one clothespin just behind the carabiner which is in that loop on my tether, that way if there is slack (as you show in 14:44) the rope does never become loose / fall down on the tree as it usually does, it just stays in place. (i have a minirope which whom i attached the clothespin to the loop in the thether so it does not fall down) But i honestly feel that is more important with thin bark trees, the ropes have more friktion on the kind of trees which you climb in the video. I mostly climb thin bark trees and i try to avoid too much movement with my arms, that is why i climb like this.

Attach your backpack with an easy smal rope like the sticks on the tree, since you now don't have the orange one anymore for that.

One suggestion which is a bit pricy but it is extremely nice: Use a grigri and decend with your orange rope from the tree, learn the JRB knot and just be amazed how easily that rope comes of the tree. I use the grigri for safety reasons, repelling in the dark is just safer than climbing back down (my opinion), it is also more fun. I would higly recommend to have an JRB instruction video on your phone, haha, i trained that many times on the ground but sometimes after shooting a nice buck or freezing for a few hours my brain was just empty so better have all the knots digital with you.

I personally climb without sticks and without a platform, but that looks really nice how you are doing it! Loved your video! :)
