This must have been a lot to take in, bc you see prices being put on people but like your own people, your blood, must be so overwhelmingly heartbreaking😢

Leslie needs a little perspective on the value of money in those days. that was no “measly $150 dollars, ” back in the 1850’s. That would be the equivalent of $3, 463.90 today. Land was $3 - $5 per acre, homes were mortgaged at $4.50 per month. That money was also precious food on the table back then. Might not want to be so dismissive over $150 in those days Mr Odom Jr.
