How to Connect to a Windows 11 (or 10) Home Edition PC Using Remote Desktop

You can try and use a tool such as RDP Wrap but it usually takes some tweaking to get it right and you will usually have more luck with Windows 10 than with Windows 11.

There is a program called XP/VS Terminal Server by Thinstuff that you can install to enable RDP connectivity on your Windows Home Edition computer. They have a free trial and also several editions to choose from if you decide you want to use it.

After tweaking 2 settings: 1) I needed to turn off Memory Integrity within Core Isolation on host PC to complete the installation and 2) choose the "less secure" option within ThinStuff client under connections. Then it works perfectly! Thank you so much as I was about to purchase a dual port USB C KVM switch. The only downside vs. KVM is host PC is limited to a single screen, unless you have a suggestion on that as well? Either way, thx for an excellent fix here.

I've tried so many Youtube videos to solve the bellow problem, but nothing has helped yet :(

"Error: Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:

1) Remote access to the server is not enabled
2) The remote computer is turned off
3) The remote computer is not available on the network

Make sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled.
