How to Connect to a PC | Insta360 ONE RS Tutorial

Here’s a quick guide on how to connect ONE RS to a PC. Onc connected, you can backup the files from your camera, clear space on your microSD card, and edit videos in Insta360 Studio. Don’t forget to subscribe for more videos like this!

I have a fix for those with their disk wanting to format on windows.

Follow these steps:
1. make sure your cam is in u-disk mode.
2. Plug your cam into your pc (either the cam Itself or the Sd card for itself)
3. It will now prompt you with the format disk window… CANCEL that, as well as other things coming up.
4. Open the “command prompt” on the pc and write:

chkdsk /f e:

(NOTE) the last letter (here it’s e) It's the disk name of the Sd card in the camera. (in my case E-disk)
therefore, check the name of the disk popping up in the file explore, and replace it with the e.

5. Press enter, and a few things should pop up in the command prompt. For an example, some sd card information and, it should also say: “windows have made corrections to the file system. no further action i required”
6. If that’s the case, you should be able to open the disk without It wanting to format.

This isn't working for me. Well, it worked once, but never again. Windows keeps asking me if I want to format. But that would destroy the video I took. I see it's been a while and your guys still haven't fixed the problem. I know I have an appropriate sd card, and like I mentioned, it worked ONCE. Please offer us a solution. I just spent hundreds of dollars on your product.

I have ONE RS but everytime I connect it to PC it always ask to format disk. How can I get my footage if it always ask to format it everytime I connect.

We're having the same issue. ONE RS. Everytime I connect it to PC it always ask to format disk. I've downloaded the videos to my phone (OnePlus 10 Pro) but I can't find the downloads anywhere on the phone, even though it shows downloaded on the app and the device storage has increased because of the downloads. Please advice

I'm using the official 360 type C cable, also the official Insta360 64GB Micro SD Card, and before I used a 128GB sandsik micro SD Card, and the result is the same; I connect it to PC it always ask to format disk, no matter if I try with my Windows 10 dekstop PC or my MSI gaming laptop with Windows 11. This issue is a trash, and the worst part is that I can see the photos and videos on my Insta360 ONE RS camera, but I can't do it with any PC

I followed the steps, but my windows 10 laptop cannot recognise the camera as a usb drive. I bought the insta360 one rs twin edition recently and actually used the usb cable that came along in the box. I gave up after repeating the steps couple of times.

Insta360 studio should be one stop solution to edit merge all files in one file and upload file in YouTube.

Sorry but this doesn't work, or at least not anymore. I have the ONE RS Twin edition and a Windows 11 surface book 2. I also have a custom Windows 10 gaming desktop. Connecting the camera directly to either machine rarely works. It did work on random occasions but I was trying to connect it today and it failed numerous times. You would think the basic functionality of connecting to a computer would be no trouble at all but evidently it is.

SO FRUSTRATING! New camera. Can't use as a camera without connecting to a phone. Not like a Hero, plug in your card and go.
