Transformers it is a static device . It means with out any mechanical process. And it transfer electric ⚡ power from one voltage to another voltage.it means high power to low power or high power.step up or step down

Transformer work on the basis of mutual inductance .... Having primary and secondary coil ... Composed of iron core which enhance the magnetic field strength ... And copper wire is wonded on iron core with N number of turns ... By increasing number of turns voltage increases ... Primary coil is attached with switch, when switch is closed then current flows through primary coil and change the magnetic flux . According to Faraday's law changing magnetic flux can induce emf and current in secondary coil
