This is a question the US will face in July 2023 with FedNow or however it is called. To compound their problems is where many states enacted gold and silver as legal tender. So the Fed wants a cashless fiat controlled by them. The staes are saying gold and silver. Which will win?

In case anyone is in doubt, with that centrally controlled currency, you could be controlled as to what you can spend on, when you can spend, where you can spend (area, for example distance from home etc.), how much you can save and even how long your money can last until it expires. So it's an absolute 24/7/365 nightmare.

It’s my understanding that the CBDC currency will have a built in expiration date. The government is doing this as an incentive for you to spend. Use it or Lose it! It’s crap! You will own nothing!😢

Personally, I believe the ONLY thing buying us some time (maybe a few years) is the weakness of the US dollar. There will be a lot of logistical issues to overcome. Since the dollar is still the standard, there are many countries that will have to unload them first. And this, only after the BRICS + gets really rolling. That is, barring all out war.
