My last year on YouTube was pretty exciting … I have tasted some pretty awesome wines, failed, and succeeded in several blind tastings and I have experimented with some new topics and formats.
Some of my videos got quite a few views and they introduced the channel to a new audience. It grew more than tenfold over the past 365 days and I am very thankful for your support.
It was my goal to get to 10k subscribers at the end of 2021 and at the beginning of last year this seemed like an impossible target but by a combination of your help and luck, we made it to 10k by the middle of the year. Many of you are recommending the channel and are sharing my videos which is cool. I am going to make sure that you get even more exciting videos for this year. It is going to be a busy year for me personally and professionally, but I have said NO to some opportunities to make sure that I can focus more on the channel and keep you entertained – so hold on to your hats or your glasses … ! As the channel has grown, I now get hundreds of comments on a video which makes it difficult to keep up with your questions. In this video, I want to answer some of your most pressing questions in detail. There were some topics that I grouped together and just picked one question representative of the category but I also put in some random, but interesting questions: The questions are from my YouTube Community feed that you see if you subscribe to my channel and from my Instagram account and I picked some questions from each account.

It would be great to do an online wine tasting with you. So we can try to experience and taste what you are tasting. This would help to understand quality better. And maybe a cooperation with Jay and Peter! Thanks and all the best for 2022

It would be great to see a video about how to stock and maintain a wine cellar. For example, say you had space for 1000 bottles: what would be some wines you must have; how many wines you you lay down for years; how to manage drinking windows; how to test whether a wine is ready to drink; whether to store some wines at drinking temperatures etc.

Budget is always important. So I would like to see great wines that don't exceed 20 Euros. Yes, I like german wines, even Spätburgunder.

Don't sleep on Wine Folly's videos, they've been so helpful to me during my journey! And I love your channel as well. It could be fun to see how different regions prioritize different aspects of wine-making, for instance old world vs California vs PNW vs South America vs South Africa, etc. Terroir, climate, and barrelage specifically.

Very interesting video! A lot of new information to note. I wish You all the best in 2022, both here on YT and in your professional life! Also, I'm happy that my question appeared in the video! Thank you!

Regarding your question at the end:
All the videos I've watched on this channel are really insightful into their respective topics. However, there isn't a backbone to the channel, in the sense that we cannot know what to expect about the topic of the next video other than YouTube polls. What about introducing sections (viticulture, winemaking, geography, ampelography, tasting techniques, specific tasting notes, etc.)? That way, the viewers (and potential new subscribers) can associate it to something more specific than just the wine industry, and that added sense of identity will surely help the channel grow! Best of luck for this new year!

Excited to watch your 2022 videos! If there are two things I'd find interesting are a better understanding of less popular grape varietals & theirs wines, and also more about viticulture and its impact on wines!

I would like to see a world tour of wines in the $15-$20 /€15-€20 range from various regions of the world (Italy, France, Germany, Spain, West Coast USA, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, etc). I can see each video focusing only on 4 wines from each region. People could try to find those wines and see if they are able to smell and taste the same notes, for example. Suggested food pairings could also be included from that region to really see how the wines pop when paired with the right foods

Great channel! I hope you can keep the tastings going. Not just the expensive wines that are fun to watch but the random unknown wines I might be able to buy by the case!

Very nice Video Konstantin, I agree with you that there is huge room for improvement for the wine world and wine channels on YouTube!

I particularly enjoy your blind tastings where you narrow down the origin of the wine. Always amazed by your knowledge.

Thank you for the great videos Kostantin. I’m just getting into learning about wine and your videos have been an invaluable resource. You’ve made me and my wife more interested in German wines (we are currently exploring different rieslings from Germany) and we hope to visit Germany one day to see with our own eyes the beautiful vineyards that produce these lovely wines. Keep up the great work!!

I found this channel after you collaborated with Andong and I’ve been binging. I’ve never been a wine drinker but I was spurred to try more wine with combinations of food that you recommended in that video and it blew my mind. I’ll be collecting for years to come.

Congrats on your channel, I really enjoyed watching your videos the past year!
QOD: would love to watch tastings in specific price ranges.
Take us along to the supermarket und show how to choose wine.
Try wine from less popular regions such as Armenia, Georgia, Greece.
Blind tastings with you and your intern Leon.
Sparkling wine tasting and battle between regions.

Congratulations for what you are doing, the time spent answering all this questions and making so many interesting videos. Although there are rules in wine pairing, we have another confirmation of the Latin phrase - de gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum. One of my favourite combinations are dry wine-desert and off-dry wine-main dish. I think combining the salty food with sweet drink including wine is very good. That’s of course only matter of taste and probably eating habits which differs in different culture.
