How to Create and Save Playlist in VLC Media Player

Hey! Welcome to HOWZA channel! In today's lesson, we will teach you how to create and Save Playlist in VLC Media Player.
Launch VLC Media player.
Click on View at the top tools bar. Choose Playlist from the list. A new window will open. Resize the window if you want.
Select Playlist from the left side list. Right-click on the right-side of the window. Choose Add File from the list. A new window will open. Select the files that you want. Click on Open.
You can add more files. Right-click on the right-side of the window. Choose Add File from the list. A new window will open. Select the files that you want. Click on Open.
Select the list of files. Right-click on it and choose Save Playlist to File. A new window will open. Choose the destination folder. Name the playlist. Click on Save.
You can play your playlist in VLC player.

Hi there. I have been building VLC playlists for many many years. But for some reason VLC will now only play the first file in a saved playlist (of many files). I have even re-installed VLC. Has VLC now withdrawn this facility? It's the same on my Lap Top as well as my Desk Top PC. Could it be a Windows 10 update issue. Thank you.

How do you save playlists on andriod version? Is it possible to save backup save playlists in a file format? The playlists saved within the andriod app always automatically delete

Is this just for windows? I have all my VLC playlists on a Samsung tablet and wanted to export them to my xbox. It s a niche case I know, but wondering if that could be done! feel free to reply to this comment

On desktop my problem is with stream links, I can enqueue as many links as I please, once I close VLC the playlist is gone and I have to redo the entire thing. The mobile VLC does not have this issue as it has a "add to playlist" function when playing a network stream link. Why the makers of VLC complicate things on desktop I do not understand.

The problem with VLC Player is you can only add files in a mass dump to the audio library and then select all of them and chose add to playlist. Thats fine for the first playlist but when you add more music files to this dumping ground in audio, how do you tell the files apart when choosing which files to add to a different playlist? GOOD LUCK. I have thousands of songs in some of my playlists to click on every single one and be able to identify them amongst this mess of audio files, and then add them to a new playlist is a nightmare. I do not recommend using VLC Player at all.

These steps illustrated in the video do not function, at least on the Mac (Intel) version 3.0.18. it seems the right-click functionality to create the playlist has been changed and you must use the File menu in the VLC application.

? ? Playlist is already selected on the left side of the window. I find it pretty dumb that you can't just left click and find "name current playlist" on the create a new playlist window. Also, a lot of the options in the drop down windows are also advanced options (at least to me). VLC, as great an app as it is, should really simplify it's app navigation options. A lot of people could be and probably are just getting fed up with it and uninstalling and getting an easier user friendly app, and they are out there. 🤨

No! THIS IS NOT CORRECT!
You'll have to go somewhere else to find the proper procedure to make a play list.
This is not it.
