None of these are near $100 in my country

Audio interfaces and microphones are literally my favourite comparisons from this channel😍 Keep doing it!!!

Just my 2 cents. I think the interfaces featured don't compare well with each other as their pricing is all over the place. for example, why compare a volt 1 at $139 to a minifuse 1 and komplete audio 1 when the minifuse 2 and audio 2 are the ones that compete with that in the pricing segment. then a $180 tascam gets a mention that is in another pricing segmant which now competes with a scarlett 2i2. my suggestion is, make it consistent to your title. "best $100" means pricing is expected to be very close to 100. this video's title would fit better with "best under $200" in my opinion.

half of these had pretty noisy preamps, I was very impressed with the volt, it had a little noise floor but was very pleasant, But the Mackie was insanely clean and pretty pleasant, The Evo 4 was also amazing with almost a silent noise floor. The Native instrument was pretty good but sounded a little fuzzy to me in the voice which I thought was strange. Tascam was really noisy, so was the mini fuze 1. The presonus just sounded nasally. The M-Audio was pretty good too. I keep listening to this over and over with my Beyerdynamic DT 177X plugged into the THX 789 at a higher than average volume. And I feel like if I was going to make a purchase out of this list I would buy the Mackie just based on the very clear and pleasant sound. Thank you for the video.

From past experience I had with Tascam, I think I will stick to work with that brand, I really need an interface upgrade since my old US144 no longer works on recent OS (it worked great for the past 13 years! Great Quality) but for me it's important to have midi inputs, thank you for making this video, it helped me a lot.

They all sound great! I was impressed. The Volt with vintage filter and the old warhorse the Scarlett with AIR enabled sounded the most pleasing to my ears.

Its amazing what the more affordable interfaces can do these days.

I use an Audient Evo 4. It has been a fantastic interface for both podcasting and music. I can't recommend it enough.

I absolutely love the minifuse 1 I'm glad that I bought that for my first interface

Thanks for running these down--love the side-by-side comparison with your actual voice, but I think it would helpful to give us like a second to just listen to the signal so we can hear the noise floor by itself.

the presonus is propably the most appealing to me because of the input/playback mixer. (and it mostly looks really flashy)
but tell me why, why is the headphone jack on the back ??

I have two Scarlett Focusrite cards on my media computers. One is an older one 2 inputs 6 outputs [incl RCA] that I use to power my HIFI and the other is 2 in / 2 out - this one is a newer model and it feeds the audio to two Yamaha HS8 active speakers that I use in my living room. I'm super satisfied with both. I never used any plugins on either because I use plugins only in my studio where I use a RME core card with a RME converter but I have a feeling that they're probably pretty solid! I can totally imagine running a project studio on this card. It is also super awesome for stuff like podcasting etc where you don't need to buy and mic preamps because mine have 2 built into them. I've never used them, but they're probably ok.

Great video! I’m pretty new to this and in the market for my first interface. Right now I’m creating mostly on my iPad. Do you have any suggestions which interface(s) would be better suited for iPad production? Thanks for your time!✌🏼

Hi, first of all I wanted to congratulate you on your videos.... Really interesting, well done and educational.
My need is for live use with my band. 20 years ago I was using a pc with a m audio firewire 410 with which I used to manage stereo backing tracks, drummer clicks + vst instruments played live, all driven by cubase.
Now it's been 20 years (in which I've been away from gigs) and I'm undecided on what to buy.
I have 3 macbook pro's at home so I could use one of them for audio.
I don't need to record: I just want to be able to manage backing tracks and simultaneously play vst instruments live (using main stage or gig performer or something... I'll have to look into that too).
So I'll need at least 4 outputs (using the backing tracks in mono on one channel and the click on another channel + 2 stereo channels for vst).
The idea is to get a soundcard that I can then also use in the future if I decide to switch to ipad (to lighten up the equipment).
I also need to connect at least two keyboards via midi, and this I could do by adding a usb hub.
I also need traditional midi inputs because I have an old keyboard that doesn't send control changes via USB but only via the midi outputs (although I could probably use a midi to USB cable).
Currently what sound cards do you feel like recommending for the use I need?
Thanks in advance

The ART was definitely a surprise! lol

Funny I actually thought the Evo 4 had the best looks, sound and features. Very warm-sounding, low noise preamps compared to the universal audio. The UA preamp is very bright, borderline harsh in the top end. The Tascam, Art, and Arturia audio interfaces are extremely noisy, I wouldn't get those. The Mackie Onyx surprised me, it sounds really good and has low preamp noise. The M-Audio sounds pretty good, the PreSonus is nothing special in terms of sound quality. The Native Instruments Interface sounds pretty good.

Here's how I'm ranking them:

1. Evo 4 (the features/sound/design)
2. Mackie Onyx (sounds good)
3. Native Instruments/Focusrite Scarlett (couldn't choose, they're both great!)
4. M-Audio Air
5. Universal Audio Volt (too bright)
6. Art Pre USB
7. Presonus Studio 24c
8. Arturia Minifuse

10:20 You should have left some quiet parts for noise comparison.

Also the Arturo’s mini fuse 1 (100) also has an 2 xlr input option which costs (150) which im surprised he didn’t mention considering some of the other audio interfaces he talked abt were more expensive. But yah just tryna spread some knowledge!

Same thing with the komplete audio interface there is a 2 xlr input option costing (140)

Same thing with the Scarlett interface there there is a 2 xlr input option costing (180)

And again same thing with the universal audio volt 1 there is a 2 xlr input option costing (190)

And again not tryna hate or anything just tryna let you guys know what’s out there.

My first real interface +10 years ago was some earlier version of this Tascam. I have fond memories and find the preamp to sound pretty sweet and vibey, Would definitely recommend it. Now I run RME Babyface Pro FS and before that Focusrite Saffire pro 40. Tascam definitely sounded better to me than my previous interface by Focusrite.
