You can do this with ammonia..let it sit for 5 mins then rinse with hot water, I’m 39 and we always did this for years no tarnishing or fading and it comes out bright and shiny

Don't recommend a toothbrush. Precious metals tend to be soft and scratch easily. Especially gold.
