The abrasives in the mix create micro abrasions in the metal that cause tarnish to come back faster. Polish is a much better option.

Wonderfull! My jewelry looks sooo good!! Have to admit I left them in longer and added Hydrogen Peroxide

No... The tin foil is needed for the chemical reaction that this method is describing. It very effortlessly removes the oxidation and grime on real gold and silver jewelry. I was amazed at the difference the aluminum foil made without me having to do anything to physically "clean" my pieces.
