Part 3 of the Pose to Pose series delves into the Graph Editor - the animator's secret weapon. By examining the subtle intricacies of a decapitated robot head in motion, this...

...leisurely tutorial is designed to acquaint the discerning animator with tools helpful for fine tuning motion.

This tutorial requires no previous experience.

For reference, check out the the handy tool tip guide found here...

Good tutorial, before I underestimated the graph editor, now I know that it is in fact very useful. I'm just waiting for 13.4

Does anyone wish they could just use magical powers to copy and paste his knowledge into your mind so you know everything

I went through the basic ball animation at college not too long ago, you explained this so much better than my teacher, thanks.

As a self learner in animation and SFM watching this I feel like a savage being introduced to proper etiquette rules... Thanks a lot for this!
Oh and the new version of SFM is also greatly appreciated! New additions help a lot with managing projects!

I love how you explain everything down the the most basic with your calm voice, so it does sound very easy. (which it basically is)

After reading this, I finally graduated from SFM school. Now I understand that CTRL + S can save my work.

Awesome tutorial. Watched from start to end. And actually learned how to animate despite quitting for a while at the point of puppeteering. Valve is smart because they give the tools of creation to players.

I have learned more from these videos in one day than I could have on my own in an entire year, maybe even a life time. Thank you

It sucks that Valve abandoned this software.

I watched all of the tutorials. Took me about 2 hours including pausing. The only thing I learned how to do was move the camera. My brain hurts.

When he adjusted the lightning and suchs at the end I couldnt see it at first, if you have the same problem just follow these steps
1. Press the Cogwheel just above the "Lenses" tab in the animator set editor
2. Select "Show Scene Hierarchy" and "Show Hidden Controls"

That way you can get all the options that werent available from the beginning!
Good luck :)

'Tis a shame Bay Raitt (the guy talking in the video) quit working at Valve this year.
