We’ve had a ton of comments asking for a Women’s Digital Nomad Packing List, but of course we couldn’t just throw a list together without testing everything extensively first—it’s what we pride ourselves on here at Pack Hacker, actually testing gear—so every women’s focused item we’ve added has seen over one month of solid testing.

It’s also important to note that every item we’ve added still fits into the original bags and organizers. We decided to stick with the Aer Travel Pack 2 because even at full capacity it will work well on a smaller frame.

Women's pockets are 47% smaller than men's. I've written to lots of manufacturer's and wish more women would do the same. If they don't/can't hold a cell phone then I won't buy them.

I’m borderline outraged that they would even include pants with no pockets. 😂 Come on! Zero chance I’m ever buying those. I’d just get angry every time I wore them in my trip.

I’d love to see a video a travel pants for women. The choices seem to be really meager.

Great ideas! As a sunscreen freak, SPF 20 is not sufficient. I would highly recommend a water-resistant SPF 50 (vs. 30 – because we never put enough on), It should be applied every 2 hours. A lot of folks use different body and face sunscreens, so make sure you have both. These sunscreens can be hard to remove from your face, an oil cleanser followed by a gentle cleanser works well (which you can also use on your body. Dr. Bonners isn't a brand I would use on the face). I would also carry a mineral lip SPF (Vanicream SPF 30 is a good one) and a night lip SPF – like Cerave ointment or Vaniply – which can also be used on flaky skin). I would also recommend a crushable broad brim hat (e.g. Coolibar, Tilley). Rather than the Dr. Bonners, I would recommend a versatile, non-fragrance wash that can be used on the face, body and even hair (Vanicream Body Wash or Gentle Cleanser, Eucerin Baby, QV (I have to use a separate shampoo for color-treated hair). A good extra to add to one's toolkit: a few Aveeno Baby Eczema Colloidal Oatmeal packets. Slim. Mixed with water, they calm down irritated skin, can be used as a mask or wash. Colloidal oatmeal is considered an FDA drug. Who knew? Being that Shea butter is hard to spread (I hope it's not the one with fragrance and essential oils. I would go for products that are less likely to cause irritation, and fragrance and essential oils can do that. So straight shea butter. Sun Potion makes a good one). I would bring a versatile moisturizer that can be used on body and face (Cerave Lotion or Cream are good choices. For something even heartier, Aveeno Eczema Balm. No, you don't have to have eczema)....Because I can't wear wool, my go to's are Patagonia base layers in various weights. I also love their Houdini, a jacket that weighs as much as a feather. I dig Lululemon's On the Fly stretch pant (that has pockets) and can be worn business or not) and Back in Action top which is lightweight and looks good day or night. I'm for Birkenstock's Arizona/Boston/London. They're especially good for people who need metatarsal/arch support or have feet problems. They also have Vegan versions. Some like Finn's. Flat shoes can take a toll. (I hope you were wearing cushy sneakers on the plane! Gotta have those). Birkenstock's light as a feather water sandal (I can't wear them all day. Some love them) is a nice option too. I like to have a cotton bandana. I bring a next to nothing rain poncho that's longer than my Patagonia rain jacket. A pack of Patagonia peel and stick gear patches for small repairs are great. A thin, foldable pair of ankle water boots (some go over your shoes), are good to have. Water bottle: I've tested so many to make sure their leakproof (very few are): Kleen Kanteen Classic with the loop top (for water and coffee) is great (and Kleen Kanteen is a B Company) as is the Takeya Originals Insulated water bottle (uninsulated bottles are lighter). I always use bottles with smaller openings as I don't like hot or cold splashing all over me. A collapsible water bottle is great to have. One of my packing cubes always converts into a backpack, shoulder bag or sling (Tom Bihn). Patagonia's fold into nothing mini hip bag is a great addition...Unrelated: I would love a review of travel/EDC bags for women with your frame (mine too. I'm sure many others). So many bags that are reviewed are wicked big/too long. My challenge is EDC. It's been hard to find ones that suit. Many thanks for all the good suggestions. Apologies if these recs are on the big list. Now I want to go away. P.S. I am curious about what bag sunscreens go in. I don't think it's wise to remove them from their containers (I could be wrong). Sunscreens are considered a drug, according to the FDA.

Some of the tips are helpful but icebreaker is SO expensive. It would help to do a list for those of us who can't afford $100 t-shirts. Also, the colors are so drab. I don't know any woman who wears all black all the time, especially when traveling. It's fine in the winter, maybe. But in the summer or in really hot places, black and dark colors are the last thing you want to be wearing. I'd love to see more varieties in brands (AND colors) and less expensive options.

I enjoyed this list and the eco-friendly list (I’m vegan). A couple of things I would add would be a water filtration system (a collapsible water bag wrapped around a Lifestraw) and one of those silicon devices (like a GoGirl) that allow women to pee standing up - there having been times when traveling when the bathroom facilities have been iffy at best. A small bottle of hand sanitizer would not be a bad idea either.

I lowkey love that a pink razor was not used. Pink is fine as a colour but not all women want pink. I know I don't. And trying to find women's versions of things that aren't pink can be hard sometimes. It's such a silly thing, but I appreciate it.

I loved your video. But as I am a plus size woman, I am having trouble finding these type of clothes that will fit me. Do you have a plus size woman who could come up with alternatives? We're going to be going to Whistler BC for skiing. I would LOVE to trim my bags down to a couple instead of my normal 5-6.

That Venus razor now comes in a travel version that I love. The blade is the same but the handle is smaller and it comes in a nice case. It’s called Venus Snap

I'm a chronic over-packer who is trying to pack lighter. Turns out the hotel chain where I stay(Hilton) help me a lot by providing many complimentary items: shaver, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, mouthwash, deodorant...These items help me pack lighter,  especially for overnight trips...

Thanks for making the women's version! I would have loved to see some dry shampoo included in the toiletries. It's essential if you can't (or don't) shower every day! ;)

Incredible ideas. I would just add a plastic compression bag for dirty clothes, a menstrual cup and sleep mask / essential oil based sleep aid and bug detergent.

Fantastic! Thanks Pack Hacker, it's great to see some women's focused travel advice without it being all about skimpy outfits, makeup and so forth. Not that there's anything wrong with those things, but some practical advice is always welcome!

This video is really helpful it would be good to see something similar but for more of a plus size lady. I am a very fit/active uk size 18 and trying to pack for a 5 week trip is hard as everything seems very focused on smaller ladies. Helpful video none the less

Videos like this are so satisfying for me as a full time traveller and minimalist. At the moment I have way more stuff but your video helps to improve my packing list. Thank you!

Great list! I appreciate that you told us not to rush out and buy everything - I find often that I already have a lot of comparable items so I don't need to purchase too much. (Although this video does make me want to shop! Argh!) I tried that Wool& dress and really liked it, but found it to be too short for me to be practical. I am on the hunt for something a bit longer with short sleeves in merino. I hope you guys are keeping your eyes out for more dresses :) I usually like the Icebreaker dresses but for the past few seasons they haven't had any styles I like.

Absolutely brilliant. I'm 70 years old, love travelling, and this set of clothing is so practical although I would have at least two colours. The other items are good too.

Would love to see some clothing suggestions for women allergic to wool.
