To all those who have 'just ordered one' I bought one last week and it's been absolutely fantastic. Zero buyers remorse. Mark's advice is always spot on but if you're beyond the point of safe return then you don't have much to worry about (IMO).

If your budget is $1000 there is no need to wait as the upcoming redesigned MacBook Pro’s will most likely start at $1800+.

The redesigned MacBook Air won’t be here until 2022.

One reason to just buy it now: the design. Apple just made some seriously controversial aesthetic changes to their imacs; if you like the current design language, get one now before it changes drastically!

There is always something new coming. Buy what you need when you need it, and stop watching reviews when you do. And that said, the rumor mill is occasionally wrong. Frankly, I highly doubt there is a new Macbook Air coming. I think what Jon Prosser recently leaked is NOT a Macbook Air. What is it? Maybe a new Macbook-"nothing" or Macbook Pro design. But I think Apple has decided to make the Air the entry-level device and Apple historically doesn't do year-over-year updates of their entry-level devices. I think everything Apple launched with the M1 that did not get a design refresh are unlikely to get a design refresh any time soon. But maybe that's just me sitting in front of my month-old M1 Macbook Air. ;)

The current m1 MacBook Air is so powerful you won’t need to upgrade it for like 5 years. Maybe longer depending on your needs.

Don’t wait! Got mine like a month ago and it is fantastic! Rosetta 2 is brilliant. The new colours look worse to me personally and the wedge design currently is amazing compared to the leaks without the wedge design. No ‘buyers remorse’, I believe I will feel the same at least for the next 3-5 years.

If the new Macbook Air really has those white bezels, I don't think anyone would regret having 2020 Macbook Air. And for the fact, white backlite on white keyboard is not a great idea as it makes the letters almost invisible (unless you're using the laptop in absolute darkness).
