No wonder David’s harp playing calmed King Saul when he was mad!

That’s the 5th mode of the harmonic minor scale. It’s called Phrygian major (or dominant)

"I heard there was a secret chord, that David played and it pleased the Lord..."

That scale is E Phrygian Dominant! I knew I recognized it! The primary chords being played are E Major, F Major, and D Minor if I'm not mistaken. Those all belong to E Phrygian Dominant. E Major is the center chord.

Thank you for sharing this!!!! Makes me wanna study Hebrew.

David would never have guessed someone would watch this on YouTube. But the Lord God, He knows the hearts of men.

Love this music! As a Hebrew scholar, I would like to clarify that these notes are not in the “Bible”. Even if you did interpret the cantalation marks as notes, those marks were only added in the 10th century AD by the Masoretic scribes, to break down the verses into easily singable parts.
There are other preserved Jewish traditions that dictate other cantalation traditions, so this is not the “OG BIBLICAL SINGIN!”
Its just one of many singing traditions present in the middle ages that has been preserved.

Beautiful playing though!

I've been a professional guitarist/musician since 12 years old and now 75. I've had Divine Revelation of King David and Yeshua and I do Love the Lord with All I've got within me. I know our Savior Lives and He's returning soon. It's just amazing that David was a shepherd who played his harp and YHWH listened from the Heavens. Miracles are unfolding even now and I thank you guys so much for this musical history. Shalom in the Name above All other names. I do Not lie.

This is so heart opening .The sacred music is enchanting. Like being transported back to former times. Like finding Moses hidden in a basket under the palm fronds, floating gently on the water. Thanks so much.
