I have gone thru this in nursing school. I volunteered to allow someone in class to do this. It is really is unpleasant.

They’re terrible. Not even just inserting them but having them in were terrible for me. I felt it all the time and it made me gag constantly instead of giving me relief from the constantly throwing up/nausea like it were supposed to

Had 12 student nurses do this to me in nursing school. No one else would volunteer. Didn't think it was so bad on insertion. The hardest part was when they all had to "feed" me. Got bloated from the food.

And that was the last time I had water for 2 weeks they wouldn't even let me have ice or sponges...
This was after a surgery complications...

I totally make sure my daddy had ice and sponges when he needed it done after a surgery...

i had to have a tube shoved in my 27 lb body at 7 .. it felt like i was being punished because my condition progressed so badly because the ER doctors kept sending me home. i’ve had a permanent shit bag since 7 and resentment

It HURTS! I had a tube placed for medical testing. I had had 4 major hip surgeries by that time (benign bone tumor) and the damn tube still managed to make me cry. A friend came with me and I’m fairly certain she was left traumatized by watching it.

That’s the worst. Had it done once and I puked all over myself and the nurses during the procedure. Kept gagging every time I turned my head after it was in for a while

My brother had this done. He said it hurt, but the pain he was in from his stomach pain hurt way worse. I couldn’t imagine. They would have to put my ass OUT to do this

Had one in for surgery they took it out then tried to put it back in… it didn’t happen between the blood form my nose and the vomiting we called it a day

That’s not pleasant. I’ve had them many, many times. There certainly are worse things though

Oh no, that's NOT how I looked. I was gagging, sneezing, holding on to the sides of the bed for dear life and until an older dr came in and held It steady to my face I couldn't even sit still to get the fluid put in the tube, then pulled out to look for stomach bleeding.
