The things with consoles are that the games are optimized for them, so they run the games very well.

optimization plays a huge part as its "easier" to uptimize consoles since theres usually only one playstation and one xbox for example but pc's have numerous builds so it becomes a bit more difficult to optimize

Good video - personally I wouldn't trust a $500 PC for gaming these days - would just go Xbox Series X or Ps5 for that price. =)

Best video ever fr, 500$ ps5 is much better than a 500$ PC and people are comparing 4000$ pc to 500$ ps5

I think he could’ve built something better than buying a prebuilt pc.

Not to mention optimizing done by game studios is different for PS5 vs old PC. Few years ago it's performance level was measured around equal a 2070, currently in Alan Wake 2 the PS5 seems to do better as the 3070. The PS5 hardware didn't change but the Studio made more effort for the PS5

For PC you should also factor in free online multiplayer, no need for subscriptions, access to the largest selection of games available, and cracked games for single players.

I brought a PS5 Digital for $474 AUD in Australia off Amazon AU. Insane value. It was used in acceptable condition but when it arrived it looks just as new.

This is a bad example of a 500 dollar pc. I built my brothers pc for $510 dollars with tax and without tax is was $482. He bought a prebuilt which is why the pc was bad but if you build your own with a ryzen 5 5500 and a amd Raedon rx 6600xt it will run triple the frames that the ps5 will so don’t listen to this

My opinion is that the PS5 and Series X are better for this money because the game is optimized for the hardware, and the consoles have been mass-produced. On the other hand, a PC is unfortunately more expensive, but it offers much more customization. Due to the recent increase in hardware prices, I personally switched to Xbox.

I'd take the ps5 any day as developers will optimize their games for console

Initial cost of a PC is higher than a console, but down the line a PC will give you the better deal than a console, since you can always upgrade your hardware for newer gens. Your SSD/HDD, Case, Power Supply, Fans etc. can all be transferred to your next build, and often you can still use the RAM aswell. So you only have to upgrade your Motherboard/CPU and GPU, sometimes not even the Mobo, and for the price of a PS5 you can easily find parts that outclass a PS5 in that regard.

I have an upper-midrange PC from around 3 years ago (£1200), a PS5 (£479.99) and an Xbox Series X (£399). The consoles definitely offer way better value for casual gamers that only play a handful of games, but PC starts to make a lot more sense if you are the type of person (like me) that plays multiple games every month. My PC outperforms the consoles by a decent margin, but the biggest benefit is that I save £20-40 on every game I buy for it. Over the last three years I have saved well over £1500 on games compared to what they would have cost me if I bought them on console instead due to access to sales, multiple giveaways and key selling sites. PC gaming definitely is a "go big or go home" type of industry though. If you are spending less than 800 on a system, you are likely better off just buying a console.

Just shows both Microsoft and Sony were far less conservative this time with the hardware then last gen and actually pushed toward the higher end
Now 3 years into the generation ( usually about halfway) i bet we will see devs really show us what these machines can do it will be interesting

Thank you, finally a realistic video! Not like these youtubers showing a “$500 ps5 killer” which is total nonsense.

I have a gaming PC and PS5 and my PC cost 3x as much and honestly isn’t that much different. I love consoles they are cheap, easy and play games.

I always laughed when PC snobs said you can get better performance on a PC for the same price. The Xbox Series X and PS5 are really marvels for their price point still offering things some of the newer specs can’t

Issue i’ve started to have with consoles is losing access to your games. Recently got a mini pc and bought a load of my games i either have or had on console. I’m not saying I’ll never lose access to them, but they seem to last a lot longer on PC. If I upgrade to a better PC i’ll still be able to play the games, on PS5 i don’t have access to my PS3 library, i even bought Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon on PSN for PS3 and its on PS4/5 but i have to buy it again.

But on performance what you get with PS5/XBX you cant match on PC without paying a lot more
