Las Vegas-area evictions to increase as rental-assistance program ends

The standard online application for the CARES Housing Assistance Program, also known as CHAP, is scheduled to shut down Sunday night.

Right out of Highschool, I started making plans for my home, We do not have time. I bought a 2 room DUMP.
In a undesirable location. No one wanted the DUMP. I did all the work no help. 2023 things have changed, nothing around under $300, 000. I basically paid $15000 for the lot. Look for help in your own hands.

I'm not particularly sympathetic here. Many landlords were forced to sell their properties because they had to deal with tenants who took advantage of the rent moratorium (something Gov. Sissy had no right to implement) and landlords were stuck covering the bills. It was worse when tenants who still had income coming in to pay decided *not to pay because they would rather buy a car or boat or some other toy rather than take care of their responsibilities. I personally know one landlord who had a tenant approach him to collect his rent and was told "Man, I don't have to give you s**t!!". That is the mentality of these people! I don't give a pass to the government, because the state county and federal levels helped make this happen, but they did we the people (those who work and save and try to plan) no favors.

My heart goes out to these people. I hope they do get the help they need.

70, 000 people received rental assistance which is going to run out, Nevada could institute a small maybe 10% state income tax and continue the program. With the new money they could fund community groups and look for more people to support.
