This film clip displays various PE activities at LaSierra High School in Carmichael, CA related to their mass calisthenics which was called the "Strength Endurance Exercise Routine." LaSierra PE creator Stan LeProtti is featured leading the young men in their calisthenics.

This film is part of the Stan LeProtti Family Archive collection on LaSierra High School Physical Education. I am curating the archive collection for the LeProtti family.

For more information on LaSierra High PE including the former and current benefits of classical physical education, please see the award-winning documentary film "The Motivation Factor" by filmmaker Doug Orchard. I was the PE historian for the film and provided some of the narration.

Those boys were beasts then. Huge working out mentality. Something to admire and to strive.

I'm really enjoying these videos of memory lane. Having experienced the LSHS program, first hand, it's wonderfully astounding there's this library available today. Would the family permit you to dub over audio narrative of what''s being shown - describing the scene, the equipment, name names where known?

Class outside in the warm California sun and the boys are shirtless as they should be. This is classical boys Phys Ed at its best. That is how boys should be dressed, shorts shoes and socks. No shirt is necessary.

God damn, look at their form and synch. Look at those bodies. Minimal fat. Just toned structure.

This is very inspiring. You just need body weight.
