This Is What A Perfect Episode Of Bob's Burgers Looks Like

Bob's Burgers is a near perfect show just on it's own. The Belcher family is not your typical animated sitcom family. They operate fully out of love and admiration of each other, even when things seem to work against them. But this episode of Bobs Burgers showcases the Belcher family at their craziest and most wholesome.

Bob's Burgers is a show I can endlessly re-watch and still enjoy every episode like I did the first time I watched it. This show is a gem.

In "The Plight before Christmas", I thought about Gene's idea of using less notes for the xylophone, creating a simpler but beautiful song. And I think that's what Bob's Burgers is to me: It's simple (It doesn't rely on violence, language or world threatening situations), but it's simplicity (the slice of life drama, and the true love they show in every episode) is what makes it beautiful.

It's hard for me to pick just one favourite episodes.
But I really love all the Halloween based episodes, they really have a good childish fondness in them. From the kids wanting candy, to the hilarious costumes, each one has a unique flair which makes them a treat.
Season 6's the Hauntening is one of the best, with Louise insistent that she can't be scared, and Bob & Linda determined to prove her wrong with their own Haunted House. Has all the comedy and heart-warming moments of a usual episode with some good Halloween spooks.

The way the family is characterised is so refreshing, Bob completely rejecting the bumbling dad character and being an amazing father. He and Linda don’t try to change their kids, they accept them for who they are even when it may cause trouble (usually Louise) and engage with them in their interests with little to no judgment shown. A really lovely recent episode is the one where the family are going to the cemetery to visit Bob’s mother’s grave. The kids have something they want to do that day but don’t try to hurry Bob and want to see out this visit properly as much as he does. Linda faces her fears and goes in looking for them, having a heartfelt conversation to her late mother-in-law. The only setting is the cemetery and the only other characters are the person with the map of where graves are plus Teddy in the B-plot, that shows how much the five main characters can emotionally carry a simple premise.

Bob’s Burgers is a story of a family that loves each other, despite them doing shitty things sometimes. It’s the family dynamic I wish my family had, and it’s this dynamic that keeps me watching and rewatching episodes. Once I start my own family, I hope we can be this close and loving

Arguably, the pilot of Bob’s Burgers is still one of the best episodes as well. It‘s very close to perfect.

i gotta say, watching bobs burgers with my family has genuinely caused our dynamic to improve. i think bobs patience has persuaded my father to take the time and understand reasoning beyond even when it makes sense to him. linda's freedom to be as silly as she pleases while also being a greatly protective mother has encouraged my mom to be more fluid in her parenting, while still maintaining the same fierce love. my little brother and i have even been playing hide and seek tag and hugging each other again, hanging out with each other like when we were young!

i think my point is that this show isn't just a sweet wholesome slice of life; this sort of compromising, unconditional love type of behavior moves other people to be the same when they see the bond and closeness of family. it inspires empathy and compassion, can mend wounds that have been open for years. for some people it's just a show, but for my household it's practically therapy. everyone had a bad day? let's watch bobs burgers. everyone had a good day? we'll watch it anyways, my dad loves jimmy jr. hey thina

My favourite episode is from season 1, when Bob gets high while driving a taxi to make more money for Tina's birthday party or whatsoever... I just love that, totally brilliant. 😎

My favourite episode is the Haunting, simply because of the ending. It really demonstrates that the Belcher family love and know each other so well that they know how to pleasantly surprise one another.

The episode with the most heart to me is The Plight before Christmas hands down, I watched it three times after it came out and it made me cry every time. I’m rewatching the show now and I can’t wait to get to it☺️

Bob’s Burgers is one of the very few animated shows, hell shows in general, that my parents and I enjoy watching equally. During COVID in 2020, it was the one show we always got together at evening dinner to watch, and each episode got a great laugh out of all of us and took away the stress of dealing with COVID away. This one in particular is such a banger.
