On March 27, the Social Security Administration published a final rule that removes barriers to accessing SSI payments. The rule is called, “Omitting Food from In-Kind Support and Maintenance (ISM) Calculations,” and it is just one of several impending updates to SSI regulations. The agency says this will help people receiving and applying for SSI. We explain.
