How to Turn Off Seeding (Disable Upload) after downloading in uTorrent

This video shows you how to disable the seeding on utorrent.
Note: I'm not responsible for torrenting, this is just a tutorial to prevent uploading (seeding) in uTorrent.

for anyone who's download speed goes down like crazy here's what u should do: just make sure under the bandwidth category u have maximum upload rate set to 0 but do all the other settings he did

For people who can & want see that seeding is necessary to keep the pirate life going. It doesn't have to be a burden. If you are already in the settings to follow up on Helton, why not set it up right so it's not bothering you while doing whatever on your desktop or laptop? I know it's not gaming, you wouldn't be leeching because the server latency in-game would slap you in the face continuously whehe.

Basic explanation:
First of all (If you happen to run Windows as your OS), Since Vista there has been a built-in P2P service which was to make long-distance networking faster through workgroups. But nowadays it is used full-on for the update service as well and by default it is on with a 500GB upload every month before it switches off. For me this was why seeding was a pain in the arse. (Windows key + I, Update & Security, Advanced Options, Delivery Optimization) Here you can turn this function completely off, or set it to PCs on the local network if you have multiple devices.
That'll do your bandwidth going out a great service :)

I set my P2P up to always seed 200% (I run on 500/100Mbps ±75MB/s↓ & 15MB/s↑), so 1 download in, I'll give 2 back. When the seed is done you have a setting to kill the upload on that file. Heck if seeding overall is done it will Alt+F4 automatically. With a lesser connection it is expected you seed less, that is totally fine. But do some seeding FFS. even if it's 25-50%. NUDGE: Or you can get the new µTorrent/BitTorrent Speed, you earn little crypto downloading and more for seeding.. since the coin you earn you can be put towards downloading even faster, which rewards those who do seed.

Besides the settings of the P2P software I run a self-setup network priority [QOS] by editing and creating rules within the QOS Manager of windows. But every Brand Motherboard Manufacturer (It's mostly Asrock/ASUS/MSI anyway) has simple networking tools nowadays to prioritize the bandwidth per app/connection. If not and you want some monitoring too, which can come in handy when toying around with settings, I can recommend Glasswire.com, it has some pretty good anti-malware security as well.. not like the antivirus software nowadays which starts crying every 5min because it spots the word crack, keygen or anything alike.

This turns you into a leecher and the swarm (other ppl downloading) might flag you. You are basically downloading from other ppl and don't do the same in return.

I am not against seeding but actually i m here because when torrent is seeding after downloaded and u turned off the PC, it takes so much time on "Checked", the bigger the torrent is larger the "Checked" time is, your PC becomes so slow during "Checked"

Know this is old thanx, in BT it still shows the seed but with no DS/US speeds, thus I assume it's not uploading.

stop being selfish, seeding helps others to also get the item you "Pirated" (usually), it's a small price to pay

a fix for it is dont do all of this just right click on it and hit stop
and it should fix it because your speed will evuntally slow down
