Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?

"These are my boys." Charles' last line in an official Mario work, and honestly, a great one to go out on.

3:54 Charles last official voice lines in the Mario universe. That’s actually beautiful.

“These are my boys!”

That line has a different meaning now. Thank you Charles Martinet.

"These are my boys"

It hits different, its his final line for the whole mario franchise. :(

Hearing THE voice of Mario say "These are my boys!" just makes me smile.

I remember seeing this in theaters. The second the music kicked in the audience went nuts. Fan service at its finest. I haven't genuinely enjoyed a movie from start to finish like this in a very long time. I still smile just about the entire way through.

Charlie Day's acting is absolutely superb in this scene, the moment when Luigi saves his brother and proves himself still chokes me up a little.

Spike going from 'Well, if it isn't the STUPID Mario brothers' to 'Let's hear it for the SUPER Mario Brothers!' is probably one of my favorite things.

What I love about this is it does a really good job showing just how stupidly powerful Bowser really is. The star power is enough to instantly knock out any other enemy just by sorta running into them, but Bowser takes multiple direct hits from it, including a final stomp to the face which hits so hard that it sends massive shockwaves everywhere. And he's pretty much just fine afterwards, albeit a bit stunned.

As embarassing as this sounds, I actually teared up at both the scene where Luigi was saved and the scene where Mario was saved from Bowser's blast. I don't know why, but the brotherly wholesomeness was overwhelming and I loved it. Fantastic movie!

1:04 Jack Black didn't even have to put the effort in for that laugh. May be hands down the greatest villain laugh ever recorded

I love Peach's "And Luigi? You're SO brave" line because it's directly opposite of everyone (audience's) perception of Luigi. He was the bravest the one time it mattered most, and that's all Peach has ever seen of him.

Something I absolutely love is how the movie made Bowser much much MUCH more expressive than the games. His facial structure is kind of hard to morph into anything other than anger but this movie made his mouth and eyebrows 100 times more fluid.

0:48 This scene always gets me. Not only is Luigi showing all his love and careness to his brother, but he also returns the favor for saving him all these years by protecting him.

He even says the same thing Mario said to him before!

3:25 “Mario you were amazing” that wasn’t Charles voice acting that was he himself speaking to the character he brought to life 🥲

Gotta love how nonchalant Luigi is when he goes "Oh, hey, Spike!" after saving him from that Shy Guy-Sniffit-Dry Bones-Hammer Bro combo!

I gotta admit the twist on the star power song was perfect

2:13 When I saw this part in theaters, I was like, “Yeah that’s it! Swing him by the tail!” Because I remember that was the only way to beat Bowser in Super Mario 64.

“These are my boys, ” followed by the iconic “Wahoo!”

Even though he wasn’t voicing Mario and Luigi themselves in this movie, I couldn’t think of a better sendoff for Charles Martinet.
