Thank you for this video. My wife and I are from Arizona and we are looking to move to Tennessee next year and Chattanooga and Knoxville are 2 of our choices. We are also very interested in Clarksville too, we will be visiting Tennessee in April for 10 days.

But I still can’t decide. 😂 I’d all but settled on Knoxville/Maryville but still need to see Chattanooga because hiking/views and access to the water are really important to me. I like the idea of a more outdoorsy than sports vibe. Also noted a real lack of any waterfront dining/retail/entertainment in Knox. But I also want more snow and I like that Maryville is closer to Pigeon Forge. So, I want both 😭

I’ve lived in Chattanooga for two years, I kind of hate it here. Food is on point though. Definitely not settling down here. Knoxville is better, the smokys, oak ridge, Tool plays there lol

Love the videos. Currently in NJ but looking at TN as a second home and to eventually retire to. Desires are within an hour to a major airport, mountain living, abundance of things to do which include hiking, rafting, museums, aquariums, zip lining, sports teams. Would love to be in one of those mountain communities and have the ability to go down to an area of shopping and restaurants. Anywhere in particular you would recommend?

I was just told that chattanooga is the next sillicon valley from its vibe. Any input on that? Living in ca far away from sillicon valley. Not really attracted to that type of population so im just curious

East Tennessee whether it's in the Chattanooga area, Knoxville area or the Tri Cities area....East Tennessee is the best part of Tennessee!

I’ve lived in both cities. In my experience, Knoxville wins hands down. Knoxville has friendlier people, more stuff to do, better downtown, and isn’t as crimey. Chattanooga has some good people but it’s very cliquey, and there was a lot of crime. I have to disagree with the video, it is so very easy to get bored in Chattanooga. Was sad to leave Knoxville, was so excited to get the heck out of Chattanooga.

The public schools are better in Knoxville, but the private schools in Chattanooga are top notch. If you live in the Chattanooga area and want to send your kids to public schools, you're better off living in NW Georgia and sending them to Catoosa County, GA schools, they're significantly better.
