Monster Hunter Rise PC Review - The Final Verdict

Показать описание
Monster Hunter Rise accomplishes a lot of things. It manages to follow up the series’ biggest game with an entry that feels worthy of that despite it being a smaller scale effort on the whole. It also manages to bring the fundamentals of a good Monster Hunter game with it while sprinkling in just enough new ideas to keep it from feeling like “just another Monster Hunter game”.

It speeds up exploration and traversal, but also cuts back on fluff in a way that makes it feel like a step up even though it’s mostly made up of predictable Monster Hunter fare. It might not expand the broad appeal of the franchise like 2018’s Monster Hunter World did, but it should at the very least keep the regulars' appetites satiated until the franchise’s next entry.

What do you mean with they went back with mission based? World was also mission based and not completly open world.

Pretty poor review, and a lot of talking for barely any info about the game. Seems like the reviewer has only played very little and based their review of 2nd hand info from others. If you are interested in this game, I suggest looking elsewhere for a review.

this review sounds like someone wrote an essay the day before its due.

To any new players, this is gameplay from the first hour of the game alone. You will learn your weapons and combat will feel anything but sluggish, especially with higher rank monsters.

Just looking at the footage of you playing this game makes me realise you have zero experience playing this franchise. Ive yet to see one combo land. The longsword has such a wide variety of attacks and I only see you do one attack over and over again even when the monster is downed. How can you review this after clearly not understanding the basics of this game. The series shines in its complex and deep combat system.

This guy literally said that the weapon diversity can only support 20-30 hours of gameplay lmao. Did he just scroll through the weapon shop and write this review? The weapon diversity in MH is massive and the more monsters you hunt and the higher tier the monster the more you unlock. And that’s before even talking about DLCs. And every one of the 14 weapon classes is not only diverse but viable as well. This guy clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

I don't have a PC, but I know everyone's enjoying the PC version of Rise.

This seemed like it was a montage of gameplay, and a summary of other people's reviews. Very superficial. Absolutely useless and non-precise information "... I was able to get the game running on my rig with no problem".... thanks for that, didn't even mention what CPU or GPU you "played" it on. "Generally from what I can tell it's a modest upgrade to the Switch version" and it needed graphics upgrades to bring it closer to World ??? The art style is completely different - this is in-line with the traditional run of Monster Hunter games. World was practically a reboot to bring in a whole new audience to new platforms.

World or Rise for a MH n00b?

Never played a Monster Hunter Game, & although I initially thought I'd get this one first, the Reviewer seemed to shed some doubt & make me think maybe I SHOULD start w/ Monster Hunter World?

Review starts and inmediately calls MH:World an "open world game". Glad it did 'cause it saved me watching the remaining 7 minutes

SHOCKING OMISSION not to mention how the co-op experience has been massively streamlined here compared to MHW, with none of that "forced individual viewing of cutscenes in story missions" nonsense. How could you fail to discuss that in a multiplayer-centric game!?

This guy's review makes me think he doesn't really get the point of this series.

For another thing, Monster Hunter is one of the influences that went into Dark Souls-type combat. That's why it has deliberate combat and it's not clunky at all if you get what it's going for--skill development. If you want twitch combat, play the Y's series.

In fact, Rise is a huge concession to faster pace action RPG players with how much faster the combat has gotten. It is WAY more forgiving than in previous entries, and the difficulty is almost neutered on account of it.

That being said, I love this game and have 200 hours+ in it, but let's actually do a proper review here.

I don't understand how reviewers are contantly comparing MH Rise to MHW? I mean fair enough Rise was on the switch for some time but I wouldn't think of comparing it to MHW. I think Rise deserves a flat 9 at least. And another thing...where's the mention about the wire bug system they newly implemented, or the rampage mode, or even some of ther ther new stuff you can do with rampage weapons? Too skimp if you ask me.

Can someone answer me this. What is the end game in monster hunter? What keeps you playing for long?

In world I felt there is little to be done after the campaign other than minor Tweeks to gear from the purple monsters. But I couldn't find like bigger challenges to tackle in the means of raids or so on... Can anyone explain? I am tempted to try Rise but I want to understand this first
