LG Wing 5G - Worth it in 2021? (Real World Review)

Should you buy the LG Wing 5G in 2021? Today I will answer that question and tell you about my experience with the phone. This phone was priced like a flagship, but now is set at a reasonable price. Does that make it worth buying now?

I still have my other LG Wing (yes I bought two but sold one). It's still one of my favorite phones of all time. I actually preferred it over my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The main downside for me is the weight of this monster and the single speaker. The screen is absolutely beautiful and delightful to use and the phone fits wonderfully in your hand. Cameras are actually quite good and the battery holds its own against the best. I'll definitely buy myself another as a backup if I get a great deal.

Even though I am happy with my LG V30 still, the charging port has stopped quick charging so I started looking at the V60. But then that reminded me that we have the Wing also and I'm thinking the Wing fits me better in that I'm a one-handed user of my phone most of the time and a V60 Dual Screen will require me to two-hand the device.

I'm really wanting to get this for my work. I decorate cakes and listen/watch YouTube to pass the time. I hate that I had to leave the video just to check my reference photo. Plus I also use delivery apps and need to message my customers at the same time. Unfortunately a lot of the apps don't work with split screen.

I don't take selfies, so the pop-up camera isn't an issue and I've heard the rear camera is good enough.

Bit mean about the ip54 some moto phones have that which is unknown to some. The 4 means it will survive rain but not being soaked but that's still good enough for most

My daily is my Note 10+ while this my second phone on my other line for work. I got it so I can see my pest route on the main screen and use maps on the small one. I could have got a V60 or Velvet and used the second screen that you can get, but those don't fit in a carry holster for the car. So the Wing it was. Yes at $400 it's a great price for what you getting, which is what I got it at (really slightly less but whatever) Also the use of full 5G vs 5Ge (AT&T) is welcome since I'm in Massachusetts. My only complaint is the sound compared through Bluetooth and the speaker sucks. Compared to my V30 that I used as my customer phone along with my Note 10+ it's subpar so be wary of that. On a side note Android 11 is scheduled for the device and I just an security update for it a few days ago. But yes because LG is well LG that Android 11 update won't be here until the middle of next year. I do feel that in sometime they will pull a Nokia, Motorola, and Lenovo and be back making cell phones 5/6/7 years from now, and maybe just maybe then they won't oversaturate themselves AND have a better naming system. Because honestly they were the risk takers and kept legacy features people wanted, like expandable storage and a headphone jack.

Alright so now that ive went hours and hours of searching for videos and reviews on this phone i have it and months later this is a TRUE review and my experience 5 months later. It is fun to play with and no doubt the swivel is a real flex and is truly handy. But it has so many problems i am slowly starting to look forward to the next phone and i havent paid it off yet. Anyways social media can be annoying for example instagram i will be watching a short clip and i will like the clip and the video will just stop but sound will still be on. Not that big of a deal but still annoying. The picture quality is not as great as they make it seem and some of the camera benefits it has like moving the lens without moving the phone is never used and zooming in takes awhile to get used to. For some reason this phone will NOT charge on just any charger cable im thankful enough that some extention cored i bought a week before will charge the phone. I will say battery life last all day. Yes sound is good but does come from the bottom of the phone so its not all that great. I didnt think finger print would be a big deal because i had the 7 plus iphone and really didnt mind it but the finger print on this phone can be a real pain in the ass especially truing to open up other apps with it take 3 to 4 times! I guess with the price drop it can be worth its money but glad i didnt see it when it first came out being 1000 dollars instead i paid 550 on the phone

That corner turn I fee is not much of an issue imo. The spring makes the phone open or close, it’s not designed to be used at corner turn.

In all candor, when you mentioned there was no longer any interest in developing this phone, my heart sank.

The pinnacle of a device of this kind was a hand-held device that fanned out with holograms containing a panoply of info and choices on sci-fi shows.
