I'm a minimalist, but I also love books. So, in this video, I will talk about how you can approach books as a minimalist. How do you declutter books? How many books should you have as a minimalist? How to buy books intentionally? These are some of the questions I will try to answer in this video.

Really helpful to think that I have a "lifetime max" of books. This made it easier to keep letting go of more books. I almost never reread. It's probably less than 2% of all my books that I will EVER read again. Other than that, they're just decorations that are difficult to pack & move with. Better to let someone read them who can learn something new from them or have their own adventure :)

You are right. Quality is better than quantity. And yes. I do feel guilty wanting to throw or give them away. I feel that when I bought them, I have to do my duty to read them. But I know I'm never going to read them! 😮

Minimized my books recently. The thought of it was difficult, but as soon as I started it was easy. Don’t even miss what I sold/donated. Consolidated to a select few that made an impact, and that I actually remember. I can promote each one effectively like a prescription to improve someone’s life. Vs saying “yeah that one’s good”

I have over three thousand books and about 15% of them are cookbooks. I want to declutter and donate them to Charities or resale bookstores but I just can't make up my mind which ones to get rid of? Was a tough choice but you mentioned here about ebooks and I think that's the right I'm going to go I'll just keep my favorite books cuz I still love the feel of a bound book in my hands but I will get my floor space back from my seven bookcases and 45 boxes of books !

i think about this a lot and often feel guilty buying books. my final rule is that if you are reading 30 books a year, it makes sense to own 60 unread to be able to have a good selection depending on your mood. and i never re-read so i don't keep read books. i like the thought that someone else can enjoy instead of sitting here.

This is difficult for me - two things I cannot resist buying - tea and books. Giving books away hurts, it is ridicoulus I know.

I'm considering buying a Kobo ebook reader. I enjoy reading but I hate having the physical book and reading from a smartphone app is not really suitable. Lovely video, thanks for sharing, Johannes. :)
